Zabeel Mile third for Cymric

Cymric finished a good third, beaten just under three lengths, in the G2 Zabeel Mile on turf at Meydan, UAE, on Thursday, February 16.
Held up in sixth of the seven-strong field by Mickael Barzalona on the inner, the Charlie Appleby-trained four-year-old began to make progress after entering the straight.
Cymric went third a furlong and a half out, took second just inside the final furlong and kept on well, though he lost the runner-up spot by a head close home to the fast-finishing Noah From Goa.
The winner Championship broke the track record with a time of 1m 35.19s.
Charlie Appleby commented: “Cymic has put up another good performance and travelled well throughout the race.
“He is now G2-paced and backed up his victory first time out.
“That is it for him in Dubai and we will take him to Europe and target races over seven furlongs and a mile.”
