Four-year-old colt Zorion is out to continue his good record at Leopardstown, Ireland, in the mile G2 Boomerang Stakes on day one of Irish Champions Weekend, Saturday, 15 September.
The Jim Bolger-trained son of Smart Strike has twice won at the Co Dublin course, including a head victory in the seven-furlong Listed Glencairn Stakes in May, and finished third in the G3 Desmond Stakes over a mile at the same track on 16 August.
He returns to Group company after finishing down the field in the Irish Cambridgeshire heritage handicap at the Curragh on 1 September, in which he was burdened with joint-top weight.
Zorion, with regular jockey Kevin Manning up, lines up against 10 rivals including Irish Cambridgeshire winner Kenya plus G3 scorers Making Light and Pincheck.
Jimmy Hyland of Godolphin said: “Zorion has shown a good level of form at Leopardstown, winning twice and finishing third in the G3 Desmond Stakes last month.
“Jim Bolger reports the horse to be in very good form and we are hopeful of a nice run, although he will need to step up on previous form if he is to be in the shake-up.”
