Best Solution gained a first G3 success with an impressive display in the Dubai 100 Autumn Stakes over a mile at Newmarket, UK, on day two of the Dubai Future Champions Festival on Saturday, October 8.
The Saeed bin Suroor-trained juvenile, a luckless fourth in the seven-furlong G3 Tattersalls Stakes at the same course on his previous start, tacked across from his low draw and soon settled in a clear second near the stands’ rail behind Montataire.
Best Solution moved up under William Carson to take the lead just inside the final quarter-mile and readily opened up daylight over his rivals.
Zainhom briefly looked set to mount a challenge with 100 yards to race but Best Solution found more to score by two lengths in 1m 37.15s on ground described as good, good to firm in places.
Saeed bin Suroor commented: “Best Solution was unlucky last time out but had been working really well, which gave us the confidence to run him again.
"It was a tough race but he is an improving colt. I think we could take him out to Dubai for the big races there now.”
William Carson, also recording a first G3 victory, added: “It is nice to be given these opportunities and it is easy when you have the horses to win these races.
“Saeed was adamant that Best Solution would stay a mile and it looked that way based on his previous run, when he was unlucky.
“He has certainly stayed on well today and the ground was perfect for him. He dug deep and was always pulling out more - it took me a good furlong and a half to pull him up afterwards.
“Best Solution has probably been a bit babyish in the past, like missing the break in Turkey, and is very playful in the way he goes about things. He is learning the whole time and can only progress.”
