Best Solution, Godolphin’s globetrotting multiple G1 winner, has been retired from racing.
Trained by Saeed bin Suroor throughout a career that spanned four seasons Best Solution recorded nine career victories, including three wins at the highest level.
Best Solution won the G3 Autumn Stakes at two and last year enjoyed a superb season that saw him win by five lengths at Meydan in February, before returning to Newmarket to take the G2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes.
Best Solution then won three straight G1 contests, landing the Grosser Preis von Berlin, followed by the Grosser Preis von Baden two weeks later. He subsequently travelled to Australia and became the second winner of the prestigious Caulfield Cup for Godolphin, prevailing in a thrilling finish.
Saeed bin Suroor said: “Best Solution won Pattern races at two, three and four, and gave us three fantastic days with his G1 victories in Germany and Australia last year. He was a brilliant horse to train and represented Godolphin with great credit throughout the world.
“He was a very brave horse, who always gave his all in his races, and we had some great times with him. We will miss him at Godolphin Stables but hopefully we can look forward to training some of his sons and daughters in the future.”
Stud plans will be announced at a later date.
