Best Solution ran well when runner-up in the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud over 10 furlongs on soft ground at Saint-Cloud, France, on Sunday, October 30.
The two-year-old colt broke sweetly under Christophe Soumillon and raced on the outside in mid-division of the 13 runners.
He started to make progress turning for home and came widest into the straight, right across to the stands’ side.
Best Solution challenged for the lead and soon went to the front, only to be caught just inside the final furlong by Waldgeist who triumphed by a length in 2m 12.73s, with another half-length back to the third Capri.
Godolphin’s Lisa-Jane Graffard declared: "Best Solution ran really well.
"It looked as though he would win at one stage but found one too good.
"Best Solution is a very decent horse and hopefully will continue to do well in G1 races next year."
