Fintry, unbeaten at Chantilly, made all to overcome Avenir Certain in the Group Three Prix Bertrand du Breuil Longines at the French course on Sunday, June 14.
The four-year-old Shamardal filly, trained by Andre Fabre, went straight into the lead and was soon dictating the pace.
Mickael Barzalona asked Fintry to stretch with one and three quarter furlongs remaining and they had gained a two-length advantage by the distance.
Fintry doubled her advantage inside the final furlong and dual Group One winner Avenir Certain, held up last of the six runners, finished fast but could not quite get to grips with the Godolphin filly, who won by a half-length after being eased down in the shadow of the post.
The third home, Faufiler, was another one and three quarter lengths in arrears.
The time achieved by Fintry, gaining her third victory from three starts at Chantilly, was 1m 36.00s over a mile on good turf.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: "It was lovely to see Fintry back to her best. She is very honest and has a big heart.
"She deserves the chance to return to a Group One race and we will consider the Falmouth and the Rothschild, both over a mile."
