G2 Grand Prix de Vichy second for Soleil Marin

Soleil Marin finished runner-up in the 10-furlong G3 Grand Prix de Vichy at Vichy, France, on Wednesday evening, 17 July.
The Andre Fabre-trained five-year-year old was held up sixth of the seven runners by Mickael Barzalona and dropped back to last before half-way.
The field followed the leader, Diamond Vendome, over towards the stands’ side rail after turning into the straight.
Soleil Marin came through strongly to challenge with a furlong to race before Diamond Vendome rallied and went on again for a one and three quarters of a length victory in 2m 5.29s on turf officially described as good.
