Godolphin’s Inns Of Court has landed in Hong Kong, nine days in advance of his target race, the G1 Hong Kong Mile, as the international spotlight continues to focus on the Far East.

Less than a week after the memorable G1 Japan Cup victory of Almond Eye in Tokyo, Hong Kong is preparing for its biggest weekend of the season, with horses flying in from all parts for a meeting that continues to grow in stature.

Andre Fabre has always been keen to support this fixture, and his selection of the Mile as the most suitable race for Inns Of Court is noteworthy.

“Inns Of Court is a horse with a lot of quality,” Fabre said. “He has speed and a fine turn of foot. It is important that he relaxes in the early part of his race.

“Dropping back in trip helped in that sense, however with a strong pace and good ground, he is effective over a mile as well,” he pointed out.

There is little doubt those conditions will prevail, especially as local hero Beauty Generation, officially the world’s best miler on Turf, heads the line-up.

Mickael Barzalona is set to ride Inns Of Court at Sha Tin on Sunday, 9 December.
