Three-year-old fillies Local Time, Good Place and Yodelling aim for Classic glory in the mile Listed UAE 1000 Guineas Sponsored By Nova An IPIC Powered Company at Meydan, UAE, on Thursday, February 5.
Local Time (Saeed bin Suroor/James Doyle) bids for a second straight win on the dirt of Meydan after staying on well to get up and beat Ad Idem by a short-head in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial Sponsored By DP World UAE Region over seven furlongs on January 15.
The Invincible Spirit filly posted three successive victories in the UK, including a game neck success on turf in the seven-furlong Group Three TriConnex Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket in October.
Good Place (Saeed bin Suroor/Adrie de Vries) was fourth after breaking awkwardly in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial Sponsored By DP World UAE Region and came home seventh on her final juvenile appearance in the Group One Dubai Fillies' Mile at Newmarket in October.
The Street Cry filly gained two wins on turf in the UK last season, including a neck verdict in an Ascot conditions race over a mile in September.
Yodelling (Charlie Appleby/William Buick), a daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, is unbeaten in two starts following impressive victories on the Polytrack of Kempton Park, UK, including a facile success in a mile conditions event on her most recent outing in October.
Saeed bin Suroor commented: "Local Time won her trial nicely and I have been pleased with her since. She is a filly who always tries hard in her work and looks in good form at the moment. A mile will suit her well and she is ready to go.
"Good Place missed the break last time but still ran a very good race. The step up in distance will suit and I am hoping for a good run."
Charlie Appleby said: "Yodelling has been impressive in both her starts so far. She has settled in nicely out in Dubai and has been training well but will improve on whatever she does this week.
"She seems to handle the dirt well but she is a filly who is going to appreciate stepping up to beyond a mile. Her ultimate aim is the UAE Oaks and I would be delighted if she finished in the first three this week."
The Godolphin trio oppose three other filles - Ad Idem and Runner Runner, who were second and third in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial Sponsored By DP World UAE Region, and South African scorer Shahrasal.
Godolphin has won the UAE 1000 Guineas on 10 occasions with Muwakleh (2001) Infinite Spirit (2002), Mezzo Soprano (2003), Catstar (2004), Satin Kiss (2005), Cocoa Beach (2008), Siyaadah (2010), Gamilati (2012), Lovely Pass (2013) and Ihtimal (2014).
