Shadow Of Light’s outstanding season was honoured at the Cartier Racing Awards on the evening of Wednesday, 20 November, with the homebred juvenile receiving the Cartier Two-Year-Old Colt award.
Trained by Charlie Appleby, Shadow Of Light became only the second juvenile in 42 years to win both the G1 Middle Park Stakes and G1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes.
Hugh Anderson, Managing Director of Godolphin (UK and Dubai), said: “2024 has been another superb year for the Godolphin team worldwide and this award really is the cherry on the cake.
"Shadow Of Light has been incredibly consistent all season and to conclude the year by winning two of Europe's premier G1 contests for juveniles is an outstanding achievement. All credit must go to Charlie Appleby, William Buick (plus Harry Bentley who steered him to his second victory) and the whole team at Moulton Paddocks. Special mention must also go to the stud team who foaled and raised Shadow Of Light - it has been an exceptional year for the homebreds.
“I would also like to thank Cartier for their continued support of these awards, everyone who voted for Shadow Of Light, and of course our principal, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.”
