Tribalist maintained his perfect start to 2023 as he comfortably defied a penalty in the G3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil at Chantilly, France, on Sunday, 18 June. The Andre Fabre-trained four-year-old had made all when winning the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc and G2 Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud in the spring and once again dictated from the front, establishing a length lead over Russipant Fal. Asked to quicken over a furlong and a half out, Tribalist responded well for Mickael Barzalona and the Farhh colt found plenty as Topgear briefly looked set to challenge for the lead entering the final furlong. Tribalist hit the line strongly to prevail by a cosy three-quarters of a length over Topgear, with a further two lengths back to Russipant Fal in third.
