Best Solution, Carry On Deryck & Ancient History seek G3 honours

Best Solution and Carry On Deryck make a quick return to Newmarket, UK, on Saturday, October 8, with Ancient History from France also lining up for Godolphin on the second day of the Dubai Future Champions Festival.
Two-year-old Best Solution (Saeed bin Suroor/William Carson), who runs in the mile G3 Dubai 100 Autumn Stakes (14.55hrs local time), was hampered inside the final furlong when coming home a close fourth over seven furlongs in the G3 Tattersalls Stakes at the course on September 22.
The Kodiac colt, a ready winner of a Goodwood maiden in July, is drawn three in a field of 10 and his rivals include G1 National Stakes third Lockheed plus unbeaten Listed scorer Rodaini.
Saeed bin Suroor commented: "Best Solution was unlucky to finish fourth last time out but came out of that race in good order and has been working well.
"He deserves another chance in a G3 race and I am hoping for a good run."
Carry On Deryck (Saeed bin Suroor/Jim Crowley) and Ancient History (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona) both step up to G3 company for the first time in the Godolphin Stud And Stable Staff Awards Darley Stakes (17.20hrs) over nine furlongs.
Carry On Deryck, a four-year-old son of Halling, has performed admirably in big handicaps throughout this year and was a clear second over the same course and distance in the historic Cambridgeshire Heritage Handicap on September 24.
Ancient History (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona), a three-year-old Shamardal colt, has gained two victories at Maisons-Laffitte, France, so far during 2016, most recently when scoring by a cosy neck over a mile and a quarter on September 26.
Saeed bin Suroor added: "Carry On Deryck ran a very good race in the Cambridgeshire and has earned his place in a G3 contest.
"He has been going well at home and I am looking forward to another good effort from him."
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: "There are limited opportunities in France for Ancient History, particularly on decent ground.
"This is a big ask based on his form but he heads to Newmarket in good shape."
A total of eight runners for the Godolphin Stud And Stable Staff Awards Darley Stakes also features G1 winner Johannes Vermeer and Newmarket G2 scorer Custom Cut.
Elsewhere on the same card, Mise En Rose (Charlie Appleby/William Buick), who was beaten a neck in the seven-furlong G3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster on September 9, steps down in class and trip for the 13-runner Listed Visionsport.com EBF Stallions Boadicea Fillies Stakes (13.45hrs) over six furlongs.
The same jockey and trainer combination team up in the 10-furlong Listed Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes (16.45hrs) with progressive juvenile Fly At Dawn, who registered a third win in four starts when comfortably taking a mile nursery handicap at Newmarket on September 22.
