Lady Montdore stayed on well to finish third on her Pattern debut in the G3 Prix Minerve at Deauville, France, on Sunday, August 13.

The Andre Fabre-trained filly, a Listed runner-up at Saint-Cloud on July 14, was held up in last of the 10 runners by Pierre-Charles Boudot for the majority of the extended 12-furlong contest.

She still had the rest of field in front of her turning for home but made good headway in the straight, briefly taking second inside the final furlong before being passed by Calayana, to go down by two lengths in total behind God Given, who won in 2m 43.67s on soft ground.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Lady Montdore ran a good race. She is nice filly, with a great temperament and a good turn of foot.

“She stayed this distance and hopefully we can find a nice race for her over this trip or a little further later in the year.”
