Progressive three-year-old Inns Of Court gained a second G3 success with a smooth victory in the Prix de la Porte Maillot over seven furlongs at Deauville, France, on Saturday, July 1.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt, who had previously scored over the same distance in the G3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Maisons-Laffitte on June 3, was covered up in fourth of the five runners early on before moving up a place after the first quarter-mile.

He travelled strongly to go second for Mickael Barzalona with three furlongs to race and quickened well to take the advantage over a furlong from home.

Inns Of Court rallied when pressed by African Ride inside the final furlong to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1m 24.26s on soft ground.

It was fourth victory in five starts for the son of Invincible Spirit with his only defeat coming in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains, when he faded to sixth after his saddle slipped.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Inns Of Court is a horse still on the upgrade and we were very happy with his performance.

“We will be looking at stepping him up in grade now, and possibly back up in trip as well.”
