Fractional makes his fourth appearance of 2015 in the Group Three Prix Messidor over the straight mile at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Sunday, July 5.
The six-year-old, trained by Andre Fabre, faded to finish seventh on his latest appearance in the Group One Prix Ganay over an extended 10 furlongs at Longchamp on May 3.
The son of Manduro came home ninth in the Group Two Prix d'Harcourt over half a furlong shorter at the same venue on April 6, while, on his seasonal reappearance, finished fifth to Solow in a mile conditions race on Polytack at Chantilly on March 3.
Fractional was successful on his final four starts of 2014, being awarded the Group Two QNB Prix Dollar over 10 furlongs at Longchamp in October.
He landed the Group Three La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte over the same distance at Maison-Laffitte in September, captured a mile conditions race at Longchamp earlier the same month and took a similar race at Lyon Parilly on June 14.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: "Fractional has run three slightly disappointing races this season so we keeping our expectations fairly realistic.
"We are just hoping he can rediscover his best form from last year which, if he does, would give him a very good chance.
"We are not going into the race with any huge confidence - we will just have to see how he gets on."
Mickael Barzalona partners Fractional for a second time in the Prix Messidor.
The four other starters include Group Three Prix Bertrand du Breuil Longines third Faufiler and Listed scorer Ice Love.
Godolphin has won the Prix Messidor twice, thanks to Fly To The Stars (1998) and Librettist (2006).
