Rosa Imperial maintained her unbeaten record with a comfortable success in the G3 Prix de Ris-Orangis over six furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Wednesday, June 28.

The Andre Fabre-trained four-year-old filly, stepping up in class after winning a Listed race at the same course and a Fontainebleau maiden earlier this year, soon settled in third of the seven runners towards the outside under Mickael Barzalona.

Asked for her effort with a quarter-mile remaining, the daughter of Pivotal ran on to take the lead just inside the final furlong and asserted to beat Son Cesio by a length in 1m 9.72s on good ground.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “We were delighted with the performance of Rosa Imperial, particularly as it was only her third start.

“We will see how she comes out of this race before making any plans but she has plenty of speed and has done nothing wrong in her races so far.”
