Big Blue returns to Pattern company for the G3 Prix de Barbeville over a mile and seven furlongs at Chantilly, France, on Sunday, April 24.
The four-year-old, a Listed winner over the same trip at Deauville last year, makes his second appearance of 2016 after finishing eighth of nine behind Fly With Me in the Listed Prix Right Royal over half a furlong further on heavy ground at Maisons-Laffitte on April 1.
He ended last season with a pair of good performances over a mile and seven furlongs at Longchamp, coming home fourth in the G2 Prix Chaudenay in October and second in the G3 Prix de Lutece the previous month.
The Andre Fabre-trained colt, with regular rider Mickael Barzalona again in the saddle, faces 12 other stayers including Mille Et Mille and Kicky Blue, who were first and second in the G1 Prix du Cadran last year, plus G2 Prix de Royallieu scorer Candarliya and Fly With Me.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: "Big Blue was disappointing last time out but there were a couple of excuses - he did too much on the heavy ground and it was also a very tough race for Listed level.
"We expect him to come on a lot for that run but this is obviously another tough contest and it would excellent if he could make the first three."
