The three-year-old colt, trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Mickael Barzalona, raced at the rear of the three-strong field for much of the 10-furlong contest.

The son of Shamardal was niggled along with half a mile left and moved up on the inside rail to lead briefly entering the final quarter-mile.

Untold Secret, beaten sixth lengths, kept on after being passed by Sumbal, who scored in 2m 13.04s on very soft ground, with 10 lengths back to Kouros Jelois.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: "Untold Secret ran a good race.

"He would have probably appreciated better ground and, hopefully, he can go on and win a Listed or Group race."
